Vision Statement
Our nationwide membership of bookstores seeks to glorify God and strengthen the Church in our communities by:
Increasing communication between booksellers
Creating greater visibility for booksellers
Improving market position for booksellers
Insuring the health of book stores serving the Episcopal market by being an effective voice in the book and publishing industry.
Origins
In 1996 a dozen Episcopal booksellers participated in an informal meeting during the Religious Booksellers Trade Exhibit in St. Charles, Illinois. By 1997 about 35 stores were participating in a brainstorming session where it became very clear that Episcopal bookstores have a unique market niche and need to make their presence more obvious to publishers and others in the book trades. That very uniqueness also increases the need for Episcopal booksellers to be able to communicate with and support each other. The Episcopal Booksellers Association grew out of these meetings and was incorporated in May, 2002.
